More About Kim
Kim Bush explores the light that bathes every day scenes. That some may assume, at a glance mundane. The moment transforms them into a magical point in time. Her influences are varied, she looks to contemporary female artists including Erin Hanson, Irina Cumberland, Lola Gil, and Pamela Wilson. For as long as she can remember she has been fascinated by the effects of sunlight in natural settings, the play of shadow and the way colors transform throughout the day. Kim finds the liminal spaces found all around us intriguing, unsettling, and irresistible. As nature breathes on her canvas, the viewer becomes pulled into a dance with illumination and darkness.
