More About Casey
Casey McEneny was born and raised on the Oregon coast by his mother and father that were local gallery owners and artists. From as far back as he can remember creativity was always an important part of him and his family’s life. His father Brian was a wood sculpting artist and his mother ran the family gallery. This give Casey his first taste of creating and selling art. “I remember at a young age I was so inspired that people were able to create something by using their hands that had value without needing other people or machines to create a product. I always found this concept so freeing”. Throughout his childhood, his parents sought out many local artists for support and encouragement. This community was very gracious and willing to help whenever asked. The support that Casey felt as a young artist, contributed to the full circle concept of working and giving back to the same community that gave so much to him.
After high school Casey attended college at Laguna Beach college of Art and Design and Cal State Long Beach where he received both a BFA and MFA in illustration.
After college Casey moved back to Newport Oregon in 2008 and quickly started working with after school programs doing community murals in South Lincoln County. Working with the schools and outreach programs eventually lead to an opportunity to teach a CTE commercial art program at Newport High School in 2015. Over the last seven years he has worked with more than 2,000 students discovering and exploring the creative fields of art and how they can turn them into professional careers. During his time back in Oregon Casey has done large murals for Rogue Brewery, Newport Brewery, Ossie’s Surf Shop, Tsunami Training Center, Ripley’s believe it or not, event posters for local surf contests, County fair and local parades. He also does all the large oversize lettering and murals for all Lincoln County school facilities, billboards and Gyms.
