Toshio Toguchi

Toshio Toguchi was born and raised in Hawai'i and grew up around the ocean. He developed a deep passion for the ocean and everything in it. Toshio got into gyotaku through his mentor and one of Hawaii's best gyotaku artists: Naoki Hayashi.  Naoki describes his version of gyotaku as "a window into the underwater world he sees when diving in Hawaii's beautiful ocean waters".  Naoki's prints look like they could swim right off the paper which is exactly what Toshio would like to achieve some day. He says he still in the beginning stages of his art adventure but can't wait to practice and perfect the art of gyotaku.
